We believe that God calls all followers of Christ to live in unity and peace, regardless of who they are or the church they attend (Gal 3:28). While we may not agree on everything, we can rally around our subject, Jesus.
The Bible is our rule of faith. We believe the Bible is the foundation for instruction in the Christian life. Paul said, “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It tells the story of Jesus- the greatest story ever told. It tells of men and women who found life at its highest and also experienced life at its most dreadful depths. The Bible is our guide for our life and it will always lead us in the right direction. So we must read it but also apply it!
There is one Lord, who is God’s Son Jesus Christ, over the church. Christ is the church’s ultimate authority on all matters (Acts 2:36).
Each of us is called to fulfill Matthew 28:18–20, making fully devoted followers of Christ—disciples—who will then teach others to follow Christ.
We are called to fulfill Matthew 22:37–39, not only loving God with our entire being, but also loving all that he loves.
God’s Spirit equips believers with unique gifts that enable us to carry out the mission of Christ in the world. At the same time, the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in every believer (Galatians 5:22–23), which demonstrate the Spirit’s presence within us.
Since God is the source of life, all of life is to be used for the honor, glory, and service of God (Psalm 24:1).Stewardship is the responsible use of all of our resources, recognizing that all good gifts come from God.
We have communion on the last Sunday of every month. It is a time to give thanks and remember what Jesus did for us on the cross. (1 Corinthians 10:16) The bread and cup are symbolic of the grace in the life of a follower of Christ.
Baptism by immersion (or we like to say dunking) is a first step for a new Christ follower. Jesus was baptized so we go by his example. Baptism says the old me is gone and the new me is here.
This is really for the parents saying they will do their best to raise their child in a loving Christian home to the best of their ability. This is not an act of baptism for the child.
We believe God’s word is the ultimate authority on our Church, related policies and personal conduct. As Christians, our beliefs must be consistent with His teaching. We believe that God created each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image of God. Rejection of one’s biological gender is a rejection of the image of God within that person. We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning and is sanctioned by God, which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as defined in Scripture. We believe that sexual immorality is any sexual activity outside of marriage. We do believe that every person should be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect and dignity. We oppose discrimination based on race, age, sex and nationality. We want to be a church for all people! We support the sanctity of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death. We believe all people from every walk of life are in need of God’s truth and must be made welcome to come fellowship and grow with us as we evaluate our lives together.
